I do not know what the answer is to this. I did the rough design for quite
a thick book and we put illustrations over 2 pages in some instances. The
result was that the illustration was spoilt really when bound.
I considered later to add some additional blurred strip of the
illustration to extend the area where the pages join but I do not think
this would be successful in all cases.
