[scribus] Is Scribus of No Practical Use to Engineers, Scientists and Mathematicians?

Dear Thomas, Dear Everyone .....

Many thanks for all your comments.

There is something odd going on here - much odder than I had at first
thought.

If Symbol WORKS with Thomas's Mac, then presumably the problem lies
somewhere on my own Mac. Bearing in mind the failure of several other
applications on my own Mac to handle Symbol font (Mail, TextEdit,
Page) maybe it is something wrong with the way my machine is configured.

If Symbol DOES'NT work on Thomas's ... then the plot thickens and I
shall feel that my query was not in vain.

Meanwhile, I shall toddle off and try downloading Scribus onto some of
the other Macs I have here in case it is, perhaps, operating system
version or machine/processor dependant.

Once again, many thanks for a remarkably cogent and extremely detailed
sequence of e-mails.

All the best,

Rodney
