the repositories of the main distros should have a sufficiently up to
date qt and qt-devel.

Fedora 9 has 4.4.3.

You might also get a binary Scribus.

I have to rely upon others to get Fedora updates these days, so Fed9 will have 
to wait.
I didnt know there was a binary of  Scribus 1.3.5 ?
