The only (really) supported version is the current stable version installed 
via fink or macports etc.. however this uses Qt3 which is pretty average on 
OSX. 

The best version to use on the Mac, with all of its unstableness is 1.3.5svn, 
built manually, regularly. The install instructions are on wiki.scribus.net.
