[scribus] PDF Problem

Exporting a page to pdf works and the pdf displays on the monitor correctly
however when printing, the page is moved 12-15 mm up and 14-16 mm to the left.
To check I made 6 rectangles of different colours, no fill, just outlines each
3 mm smaller than the previous.
First is 5 mm inside the page edge.
Printing, the hard copy is full left and top justified with huge (25mm plus)
margins on right and bottom of page.
I moved the whole scrbus page to the right and down but hard copy printing does
not print over the invisible border.
This problem does not display in Scribus if I insert the page as pdf, nor in
kpdf, nor Document Viewer. Only as printed hard copy.
I have checked ppd files, tried cups print.
The ppd file shows:
Generic-PCL_6_PCL_XL_Printer pxlmono
*PageSize A4/A4: "<</PageSize[595 842]/ImagingBBox null>>setpagedevice"
*PageRegion A4/A4: "<</PageSize[595 842]/ImagingBBox null>>setpagedevice"
*ImageableArea A4/A4: "0 0 595 842"
*PaperDimension A4/A4: "595 842"
I use Linux FC8, intel mb P4 CPU Fuji Xerox color laser printer. Scribus 1.3.5
Document Viewer reports:
Creator: cairo 1.4.14 (http://cairographics.org)
Producer: cairo 1.4.14 (http://cairographics.org)
I yum updated cairo along with other files about a 2weeks ago.
The only way I can successfully print the page is to export the page as svg,
open in inkscape and print from that, works exactly as shown on the Scribus
document. and uses the same ppd file.
In Gimp Gutenprint the images and text are blurred.
I doubt it's the ppd file causing the difficulty.
I have to send the pdf's to the proof readers in a couple of days and they will
have the same problem of displaced border sizes.
It does not appear to be a Scribus problem. But don't know.
I do not know how to set the page properties of a pdf to move the margins.
I did not have the problem in Scribus 1.3.4 or 1.3.11 but cannot for now revert
back to these due to time constraints.
I am completely stumped.
Can anyone help please.
TIA
Roger
