[Scribus] Usability needs attention -- time for a feature moratorium?

Please trust me as a user
as I trusted scribus as a usable tool
while trying it during 2 days.

However, as I said, that was about 4 month ago
and i might not remember exactly.

Following your mail, I "even" checked quickly with the new release,
and ok, the s&r is ok with character style definition, great,
but it seems there is no way to define named character style in scribus
as it is with paragraphs, or at least to use them in the s&r.

Beside, it happens i tried to replace with webdings and wingdings char,
and the displayed char appears allways a thick square instead of
the awaited character.
Beside, that squarelooking character behave as a black hole :
when typing next to it, characters dont appear, as swallowed by it.
That is quite unusual as usability behaviour.
Have i done something wrong ?
