I have a similar process, but if there's going to be a Story Editor at
all, spellchecking seems like a pretty basic editorial need. Also
consider that many of us get stories from other people, and opening
them in vim/OO.o/AbiWord/etc. simply to spellcheck them is an
additional step that could be avoided.
Scribus is a specialized tool -- it does DTP. Spellchecking of part of
quality DTP.
