I do not understand or can help you with your problem. But pre-
separated means
colors are separated to cmyk (or cmyk + spot color/s) and in this
case would be send
as 4 separated grayscale images to your printer.
Composite means colors would be send combined and the printer/or
printer driver
will do the seprations by itself.
As far as I know most printer drivers won't accept preseparated
jobs ... hmmm .. don't know

Print in RGB, not CMYK.
