I can't really recommend any specific version, I would start going
backwards with 18.104.22.168 (which should be less buggy than 22.214.171.124 and
126.96.36.199). If you don't need Umlauts and such non-English glyphs, you
could start with 188.8.131.52 too.
In the long run, we can only hope PDF forms support will be fixed again
in the next stable release 184.108.40.206.
