I just checked, and I had libtiff4 installed, liblcms1, libmng1 and
lprof also. I installed now:
liblcms-utils, libtiff-opengl and libtiff-tools

When I make a new document, make an image frame and then try to import
one of my images, TIFF is not listed in the dialog box where it says
which formats are supported.

The tiff-images in the opened directory simply therefore does not show
as an option (they are not displayed. But diplayed are jpg-images and
png-images). No error messages.

I have not restarted the machine after the installation, but I suppose,
on a Linux machine, that hardly should not matter. I started Scribus
after alle the installations mentioned above was finished, I tried two
times. Png- and JPG-files import just fine.
