Not that I have any clue about how the Wiki is setup, but can't you add
'<br />' tags before and after an image so that the text is not trying
to wrap around it, but rather staying at the top and bottom of it?

Fiddling with Konqueror a bit I see that it has a strange way of
adjusting font size - unnecessarily complex. My guess is that if you can
manage to reduce font size your problem will go away. Font size
determines the width of that side bar also.
