[Scribus] RE opening sla documents-pictures missing

To prevent things like this from happening, use File>Collect for output
  You will have to select a folder [ideally create one for your project] and fonts and image files will be stored there, and your file saved as .sla.gz 
  It is a sensible choice for long term storage.

Adobe Reader 7.x has a colour bug that is triggered by transparencies amongst 
other things...
