[Scribus] importing table

I am new to Scribus. I am trying ro import a table, which I created in
OOcalc.
I tried several options, but all failed.

   1. I created a ps by printing the table to a file. Then in Scribus
file - import EPS/PS gives an error.
   2. In OOcalc I copied the table and launched OOdraw, "paste special"
and saved the file as table.eps. In Scribus file - import EPS/PS
showed the table, but only the lines, not the contents of the cells.
   3. Same as 2. but in OOdraw saved as table.sxd. In Scribus: file -
import Open Office.org Draw: nothing shows up.
   4. Finally I tried to create a SVG-file, having read that this is the
format which can be imported very easily in Scribus. I followed
instructions ("Advanced Importing Tricks with Scribus") from
      http://docs.scribus.net/index.php?lang=en&page=importhints3 . I
installed pstoedit, created table.ps and opened the file in
GSview. Edit > Convert to Vector format does not give me the
dialog popup like the one in the tutorial, but shows me this error:

So now I am stuck. I am running FC4, Ghostscript 7.07.
Of course I could create the table in Scribus, but that doen't solve the
problem, as I also have some charts which I wish to import in Scribus.
Does anybody have a clue?
Thanks in advance.
Peter
