Hi,

First, that version in terms of Scribus is ancient. We're on 1.2.4.1 
with hundreds of bugfixes and improvements in the stable 1.2.x 
branch.

You can look at 1.3.2, which was released last weekend for 
enhancements to the column handling.

Page breaks on autoflowing text is not yet in Scribus.
