Theres two things that need changing that will reduce PDF size:
1) proper font subsetting
2) outputting streams of characters when their attributes do not change rather
than per character, this also fixes selection etc. Changing to this method
will not reduce quality.
However, right now, we have more important things to do, ie, what we have now
in a lot of cases compares well to other apps, and most importantly the
quality is there. I'm happy with a 28 page full colour 300dpi+ a4 magazine of
mine taking 12mb, but there is no doubt it could be a little smaller.
