Then xpdf is broken. 

If it loads in Acrobat Reader 5.0.8 on Linux, and if not there, on Acro
6 on Windows, then the PDF is ok. We regularly test PDFs with various
PDF testing programs and any issues we have found have been fixed ASAP.
There are no outstanding PDF export issues.
