OK. We're making some progress here. Thanks for all of the help and input. Using apt-get I have now installed gcc-3.2 parrallel to my 2.95.4 version. Thank you very kindly for the prompt responses from Craig Bradney, Peter Linnell, Magic Page and Steve Herrick (always a pleasure to run into fellow Greens* in my travels).

(* For any of you folks who feel you have no political home or have been abandoned by the political home you thought you had, please check us out at www.gp.org and www.greens.org. We need your help to take our country back and set us on a peaceful, just and sustainable course for our children's future!)

At Steve Herrick's suggestion, I started searching around on www.Tuxfinder.com/ since the Debian packages database is still not available. Based on the help available there, I apt-get'd packages for libart-2.0-2, libqt3c102, libjpeg62, libjpeg62-dev, zlib1g-dev.

I was told I need to edit the makefile to point to the right gcc when its all said and done. I imagine that should happen after ./configure, but before make? Is that correct?

I'm still encountering problems and errors on the configuration. Error logs follow.

All help appreciated.

Thanks,
