[Scribus] display issue

As a guess, open a console and set your font options for applications
with:

$ qtconfig

Try a different font?? 

Note this application globally handles font and display configuration
for all QT applications. Changes you make in qtconfig affects KDE as
well. 

A stab in the dark, but maybe this might fix things.
