[scribus-dev] [scribus-team] Platform for Scribus trainings

Hi all,

Gerrit's questions are valid. Here's my take:

- We cannot certify trainers at the moment, at least not on a global scale.

- However, I would consider "training trainers" (actually already did this by training so-called multiplicators for a large organisation) if I have the time, e.g. one time per year at Linuxhotel or a similar venue. But that would be German-language trainers only.

- We can apply different quality labels to announced trainings, from unknown to certified to trusted.

- If we know trainers and their qualities we can label their training trusted, certified or not. This would be true for, e.g., Gerrit and Beat Kipfer.

- We could also ask for a detailed description of the curriculum and/or training materials, if necessary under a non-disclosure agreement. If it looks reasonable, we could label a training as "Looks OK based on the written description" or something similar.

In the end, you'll never know what happens in the classroom, but this is also true for schools and universities. People either can teach or they can't. What we can control to a certain degree is the factual correctness of the contents after receiving the "paperwork".

Regarding the schedule, I would like to be this a continuing work. Announced trainings would remain there until the time for applications has expired.

As for using the word customer, it's absolutely correct. A teacher deserves to be compensated for his work, and since trainings are voluntary, no matter whether they are being booked by an individual or an organisation, we are talking about customers -- customers of the trainer or the organisation that employs the trainer. That doesn't make them customers of a software company, though ;) And the price for the trainings will be determined by the market.
