I made the attached patches to get the current 1.5 svn to compile under Fedora 20, but it crashes on start-up.
I configured with cmake -DQT_PREFIX=/usr/lib64/qt5 -DWANT_GRAPHICSMAGICK=1 .
Do I also need -DWANT_SCRIPTER2=1 or any other options?

It is running OK now. I had to remove the old version with "cd /usr/local ; rm -rf include/scribus bin/scribus lib/scribus share/doc/scribus share/scribus" before installing the new version.
I can reproduce the problem that I can type accented characters into the story editor but not directly into a text frame. I am using the MATE desktop, my laptop has a "generic 104-key" US English keyboard, and I have configured the "Menu" key as the compose key. Fedora 20 has qt5-5.2.1.
