[scribus-dev] Tables as Summer of Code project

hi

after the longer and interesting irc discussion yesterday evening, i'd
like to summarize my feelings about a GSOC project implementing the
tables editor:

- it's a good idea to rebuild the table editor and GSOC may be the good
place to start it.
- i don't think that a GSOC project can lead to a complete (state of the
art) table editor.
- i'd prefer to just get a basic "modern" table editor (it must at least
do what the current one can do) with a very solid structure and a clear
documentation in which directions (and how) it should be extended,
- i'm not so enthusiastic of fitting as many optional features as the
limited time frame of a GSOC allows.

in one sentence: i'd prefer a GSOC focused on a good design of the table
editor, coupled with the implementation of its basic features (up to
being usable).

ciao
