SCRIBUS 1.3.3.14 RELEASE

The Scribus Team is pleased to announce the release of Scribus
1.3.3.14 stable. This will be the last release of the Qt3 based 1.3.3.x
series.

1.3.3.x has served us well over 15 releases and downloads in the
hundreds of thousands. However, Qt3, on which it is based, is no longer
maintained. We, the Scribus developers wish to concentrate our efforts fully
towards the next stable 1.4 release.

-- 1.3.3.14 / stable release --

This release add the following:
* Several fixes and improvements to PDF export.
* More translation and documentation updates.
* A few rarely triggered crash bugs were fixed.
* Some fixes for non-latin glyph usage in files.

  -- The next 1.3.6 development release --

Concurrently, the team is pleased to announce a string freeze for 1.3.6.svn
which will eventually lead towards the next stable 1.4.x release.

We now recommend all distributions package only Scribus 1.3.3.14, and we don't
recommend packaging 1.3.6.svn snapshot releases unless they are marked as
experimental or development only.

For Mac OS X users, we recommend the use of MacPorts or fink, or the use of a
testing version of Scribus 1.3.5.1 dmg available on SourceForge, due to Qt4
compatibility.

  -- About Scribus --

Scribus is a cross-platform open source page layout application with a
focus on high quality commercial grade PDF and PostScript export.
Originally developed on Linux, Scribus runs natively on Mac OS X,
OS/2, most forms of Unix and Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Win7.

Underneath the modern and user friendly interface, Scribus supports
professional publishing features, such as CMYK color, spot colors,
separations, ICC color management and versatile PDF creation. Scribus
was the first page layout application on the planet to directly support
PDF/X-3 output, a rigorous ISO standard.
