OK, in this case this would turn out to be a "classical" online help, which 
means the structure of the UI more or less determines the structure of the 
help files, correct?

If we decide to walk this route, I'm all for it, because it saves a lot of 
time and work and allows for easy adding of new features.

It would also mean that we could reserve the structured and didactical 
approach to the printed manual, which would help to establish the book as a 
completely separate entity.
